Can I download my resume to Word or PDF?
Once you’ve finished crafting your perfect resume or cover letter, there are several ways you can download it to share it with employers. Within the builder, you can download your resume as a PDF at any time using the blue “Download PDF” button found above your resume in the top right corner.
Many of our templates are now also available in DOCX format, which is sometimes requested in online application portals. To download your resume as a DOCX, simply click the three dots next to “Download PDF” to open a drop-menu where you’ll see several options including exporting as a DOCX or TXT file, or the ability to share a link.
Another way to export your resume in various formats is via your resume or cover letter dashboard. Under each resume or cover letter title, you’ll see a small menu including “Download PDF” and “Export to DOCX”. You can also click “More” to find the option to download as a TXT file.
Please note that if you are using the free version of resume.io, you will only be able to download your resume or cover letter in a TXT format. This format does not include any layout or design elements, so you will need to create a layout on your own. You can also upgrade your account to take advantage of our professionally designed templates and other premium features for your job search and beyond.
